How to reset the Velocity Storage Server

Velocity Help

If you need to replace your Velocity Storage Server or clean up your environment, you can reset the Storage Server. Resetting the Velocity Storage Server is a two-step process that can be performed in any order.

Table: How to reset the Velocity Storage Server

Do this

For instructions

Deregister the storage server from the Velocity Console.

This step removes the association between the storage server and the Velocity Console. All database sources, database copies, sandboxes, NFS export paths, and CIFS share names that are associated with the storage server are removed.

See Deregistering a Velocity Storage Server

Do one of the following:

  • If you use the Velocity hardware appliance as your storage server, perform a factory reset of the appliance.

  • If you use a virtual machine as your storage server, delete the virtual machine from the VMware ESXi host.

See Restoring the Velocity physical appliance to a factory state

For information about how to delete a virtual machine, see the VMware documentation.
