Creating access and secret keys for an Active Directory (AD) user

Veritas™ Access 7.3.2

You create an access and a secret key for accessing S3 buckets as an AD user, not as a storage administrator.

You can create a maximum of two access and secret keys per AD user. If you reach the maximum limit of two, delete the access and the secret key, and create a new access and secret key.

If you log on to Veritas Access as a storage administrator, you can see the access keys that are created by the AD user by navigating to Settings > S3 Management > S3 User Management.

To create an access and a secret key for an AD user

  1. Prerequisites:

Veritas Access object server needs to be running.

    AD needs to be configured.

  2. Create S3 Keys: Enter the AD user password.

The secret key is displayed once only, so make a note of the secret key for future use.

  3. Once logged on as a storage administrator, you can view the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.

To delete an access key

  1. Prerequisites:

You must have created an access key.

  2. Select the access key that you want to delete, and right-click on Delete.

  3. Delete S3 Key: Enter the AD user password.

  4. Once logged on as a storage administrator, you can view the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.
