How to set up the Velocity Storage Server

Velocity Help

The Velocity Storage Server can be hosted on one of the following:

  • A virtual machine in your data center.

  • The Veritas Velocity physical appliance.

The setup steps are different depending on which hosting method you choose.

How to set up the Velocity Storage Server on the Velocity Appliance

Use the following steps to set up the Velocity Storage Server on the Velocity Appliance:

Steps that are marked as (Recommended) or (Optional) are not required to complete the initial setup of the appliance.

Confirm that the appliance hardware is installed correctly and powered on.

Review the appliance initial configuration requirements.

Change the admin account password.

New appliances ship with the following default login credentials:

User name: admin

Password: P@ssw0rd

Step 5

Run the hardware self-test.

Perform any required network port bonding and VLAN tagging.

Configure the appliance IP network settings.
